Young
Hero of Shaolin II in September

August
You
can probably count the number of sequels that are
better than the original on the fingers of a Yakuza's
hand, but every now and then you stumble on a new
one, and Young Hero of Shaolin 2 arrives on UK DVD
for the first time in September with just that reputation.
Having
furthered his martial skills in Shaolin, Fong Sai-yuk
returns home with a sense of accomplishment, but
trouble soon starts to brew when he and a fellow
Shaolin classmate get mixed up with a Wu Dang Martial
artists named Dragonhead. The conflict grows when,
in an attempt to destroy Shaolin, the Qing government
orders a local commissioner to start a war between
Shaolin and Wu Dang.
Director
Chun Ouyang ups the action and the spectacle from
Young Hero of Shaolin, including
all of the expected elements - the training sequences,
the unfairly pitched battles - and a few surprises,
including more of the eye-opening formation work
from the first film.
Young
Hero of Shaolin II will be relesed on UK DVD on
3rd September 2007 by Soulblade at the RRP of £9.99.
