New
Warner TV Channel launches in October
23
September 2007
It's
a rare thing for us to be reporting on a mainstream non-DVD
event, but news of the new TV Channel being launched in
the UK by Warner Brothers has landed on our electronic
doorstep and there may just be enough interesting material
on it, eventually, to make it worth a look. Warner TV
is an on demand channel available through Virgin Media
and BT Vision, the idea being that viewers can watch what
they want, when they want. There are no specific themes,
the aim being to provide "quality library programming,
the best of the U.S."
Details
are a little thin on content at present, but a fist full
of familiar titles have been lined up for the launch,
including Supernatural, ER,
The O.C., Nip/Tuck,
Babylon 5 (the new one), The
Closer, Cold Case and our personal
favourite The
West Wing. What we'd most like to see on
the channel, of course, is a second series of Studio
60 on the Sunset Strip, but that doesn't
look too likely.
