Shutter 2-disc special edition in January
The creepist film to arrive from the Far East in some time is to be released on UK DVD in January as a 2-disc Special Edition by Premier Asia.

Nucleus go Naughty in January

If you've a taste for European erotica then the chaps over at Nucleus Films - cult film specialist and author Marc Morris and feature filmmaker Jake West - have launched a new label with you in mind. The unambiguously titled Naughty is a specialist UK DVD label devoted to, and I quote, "unearthing the naughtiest high class European erotic cinema ever made." Interested? Good.

Their first two releases, both available in January, are French titles that were released in heavily censored version on VHS in the mid-1990s, now being released in their original uncut versions for the first time, we are assured, anywhere in the world. I'll hand over to the press releases for the synopses.

Éducation anglaise (1982)

After the deaths of her parents, the sweet, young and innocent Sylvie is entrusted to her uncle, a libertine who has two women - one of whom is played by French erotic superstar Brigitte Lahaie. Sylvie is sent to a very strict boarding school, where they offer a form of Victorian English education. The school readily and willingly resorts to a very strict regime of correction and corporal punishment to discipline its female pupils and the young girls compensate for the rigours of their education by devoting themselves to all kinds of kinky schoolgirl sexual encounters. Sylvie is initiated by schoolgirl-gone-bad Claire, who becomes her best friend whilst a local criminal escapes and a new female tutor presently appears at the school. However, this new teacher favours an even more depraved disciplinary regime. Could this new tutor be the escaped criminal disguised a woman?

Schoolgirl sex, strict corporal punishment, rape, nudity, voyeurism, bondage and humiliation are all on the curriculum in this classic slice of 80s French erotica.

Dressage (1985)

At a decadent 1930s party, two very sexy and utterly shameless young women, Nathalie (Véronique Catanzaro) and Éliane (Cornella Wilms), make a bet with a rich and handsome young Baron to corrupt two innocent teenagers in order to ruin their families' reputations. The prize on offer is marriage to the wealthy Baron. The innocent and beautiful Nathalie, the illegitimate child of an aristocrat, seeks revenge on her father,  Leroy-Murville (Henri-Jacques Huet). She is hired as the private teacher of her half-sister, sexy Sophie (Katya Strambi), and takes shape using the most depraved teaching methods. Meanwhile, the seductive Eliane sets out to corrupt the teenage son of Colonel Montvilliers (André Nader) using similarly perverse methods.

What you will see in this highly charged Sadean journey into sexual depravity and corruption of the innocent will astound you. Prepare yourself for scenes of masturbation, incest, lesbianism, bondage and all manner of unspeakably depraved sexual acts, together with a grand display of some of the finest lingerie in this classic example of French erotica.

Previously only available in a heavily censored version, Éducation anglaise and Dressage can finally be fully appreciated in their full uncut sexual glory for the first time in the UK.

Both films will be presented in 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen with the original French Dolby 2.0 and a Dolby 2.0 English dub, optional English subtitles, a photo gallery and trailers. Release date for both looks set for January 21st 2008, at least that's the date the label is being launched. We'll update the story if the release date changes. Retail price is awaiting confirmation.
