All the Boys Love Mandy Lane in July

5 June 2008

Smart, sexy and savvy, the 2006 horror thriller All The Boys Love Mandy Lane was the first film from director Jonathan Levine, recent winner of the Audience Award at Sundance for The Wackness. Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) is an unattainable object of adolescent lust for all the boys in her high school. Invited on a weekend away to a remote ranch, shy Mandy sees it as a chance to cement some newly formed friendships. The boys see it as a chance to finally get with Mandy. As night falls however, it becomes clear that a secret admirer as far more murderous intentions in mind...

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is both a hymn to and a subversion of the traditional slasher movie, a low budget first film that appears to be building a small cult following. The film has been announced for a UK DVD and blu-ray release on 21st July by Optimum at the RRP of £17.99 for the DVD and £24.99 for the blu-ray disc. Both discs will include 5.1 sound, subtitles for the hearing impaired, a UK exclusive interview with Amber Heard and a trailer.
