The Clouded Yellow in October

30 July 2008

When ex-spy David Somers takes a low-profile job in the country cataloguing a butterfly collection, he finds that dangerous work continues to pursue him. David grows fond of his employer's niece, a fragile, fey young woman named Sophie. When Sophie is framed for the murder of spiteful handyman Hick, Somers becomes embroiled in a murder mystery and goes on the run with the beautiful suspect, staying one step ahead of the police until the breathless climax.

Starring the Oscar nominated and Emmy Award winning Trevor Howard (Gandhi, The Third Man, Ryan's Daughter, Superman) in one of his most best roles, the cast also includes such favourites as Jean Simmons (Spartacus, Guys and Dolls, Elmer Gantry), Kenneth More (Genevieve, The Admirable Crichton, Doctor in the House), Barry Jones (Seven Days to Noon)and André Morell (also Seven Days to Noon and Professor Quatermass in the original TV version of Quatermass and the Pit), and was directed by Ralph Thomas, the man who brought us Doctor in the House and worked with More and Jones on the 1959n remake of The 39 Steps. According to Variety the film "grips consistently" and "once the chase is on, the suspense is sustained solidly."

The Clouded Yellow will be released on UK DVD on 20th October 2008 as a movie-only disc by Eureka Entertainment at the RRP of £15.99.
